【摘要】:Theimpactstrengthvaluesobtainedontheflatsectionsofabuildingproductprofilearerelevantonlytotheflatsectionthathasbeentestedandthesevaluesdonotnecessarilyindicatetheimpactresistanceofthewholeproduct,whichisaffectedbytheconfigurationoftheprofile(thatis,corners,ribs,etc).Constantweightandvariableheight,employedinthesetestmethods,allowthevelocityofimpacttovaryand,therefore,byProcedureB,candeterminetheenergyofductile-to-brittletransition,whichcannotbedeterminedifavariableweightisdroppedfromaconstantheight.Thesetestprocedureshavebeenfoundtobeusefulelementsinrigidpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)buildingproductcharacterization.Compoundqualification,finishedproductqualitycontrol,environmentalandweatherabilityresearchanddevelopmentstudies,andfabricationtolerancepredictionconstituteusefulapplications.Choiceofthespecificimpactorheadconfigurationusedisrelatedtoavarietyofproductattributes,suchasspecimenthicknessandproducttoughnessaswellasabstractfactors,suchastheanticipatedmodeoffailureinaspecificapplication.Thegeometricuniquenessoftheimpactorheadconfigurationspreventsanycomparisonorcorrelationoftestingresultsonsamplestestedwithdifferingimpactorheadconfigurations.Ingeneral,theconicalimpactor,C.125,isusefultoensurefailureofthickerspecimenswheretheH.25impactorcausednofailure.Note28212;Equivalentsurfaceconditionsaremorelikelytooccurwhenspecimensarepreparedbycompressionmoldingorextrusionthanbyinjectionmolding.Whencomparingdifferentsamplestestedwiththesameimpactorheadconfiguration,impactresistanceshallbepermittedtobenormalizedforaveragespecimenthicknessoverareasonablybroadrange(forexample,1to3mm).3However,thisshouldonlybedonewhenthesurfaceconditionslistedin6.1areessentiallyequivalent.FIG.2ImpactTester1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftheenergyrequiredtocrackorbreakrigidpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)plasticsheetingandprofileflatsectionsusedinbuildingproducts,aswellasextrudedormoldedtestsamples,underspecifiedconditionsofimpactfromafreefallingstandardweightstrikinganimpactorwitheitheroftwoconfigurationsincontactwiththespecimen.1.2Twotestproceduresareincluded:1.2.1ProcedureA,usedtodetermineminimumimpactenergyrequiredtocausefailure(hole,crack,split,shatter,ortear).1.2.2ProcedureB,usedtodetermineminimumimpactenergyrequiredtocausebrittlefailure.1.3Thevaluesininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.1.4Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excluding,thoseintablesinfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection8.
