【摘要】:ThispartofBS4875specifiesperformancerequirementsforthestrengthanddurabilityofthestructureofdomesticandcontractseating,includingswivel/pedestalchairsintendedforuseinanofficeinthehome,andpouffesandstools.Itdoesnotapplytomultipleseatingunitsforstadiumseating,seatingintendedforeducationalinstitutionsandofficeworkchairs.Itdoesnotincluderequirementsforthedurabilityofupholsterymaterialsorthedurabilityofmechanismsasusedinconvertiblesofabeds,norforresistancetodegradationbyageingofstructuralmaterialsorupholsterymaterials.Itdoesnotincluderequirementsforseatheightadjustmentandswivellingdurabilityofpedestalseating.NOTE1RequirementsforseatheightadjustmentandswivellingdurabilityofpedestalseatingaregiveninBS5459-2:2000.NOTE2TestmethodsfromBSEN1728arespecifiedwhereappropriate.NOTE3Therequirementsofthisstandardareintendedtodemonstratetheabilityoftheitemtogivesatisfactoryserviceinitsintendedenvironment.Conformitywiththestandarddoesnotensurethatstructuralfailurewillnoteventuallyoccurasaresultofhabitualmisuseorafteranexcessivelylongperiodofservice.
