【摘要】:Thethicknessofadecorativechromiumcoatingisoftencriticaltoitsperformance.Thisprocedureisusefulforanapproximatedeterminationwhenthebestpossibleaccuracyisnotrequired.Formorereliabledeterminations,thefollowingmethodsareavailable:MethodsB504,B568,andB588.Thistestassumesthattherateofdissolutionofthechromiumbythehydrochloricacidunderthespecifiedconditionsisalwaysthesame.1.1Thisguidecoverstheuseofthespottestforthemeasurementofthicknessesofelectrodepositedchromiumcoatingsovernickelandstainlesssteelwithanaccuracyofabout177;20%(Section9).Itisapplicabletothicknessesupto1.2956;m.Note18212;Althoughthistestcanbeusedforcoatingthicknessesupto1.2956;m,thereisevidencethattheresultsobtainedbythismethodarehighatthicknessesgreaterthan0.5956;m.Inaddition,forcoatingthicknessesabove0.5956;m,itisadvisabletouseadoubledropofacidtopreventdepletionofthetestsolutionbeforecompletionofthetest.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
