【摘要】:SeveralASTMtestmethodstoevaluatethesound-insulatingpropertiesofbuildingelementsrequirethemeasurementofroomsoundabsorptionaspartoftheprocedure.Theroomsoundabsorptioninthesestandardsappearsinanequationintheform10log(x/A),wherexisaquantitywiththesameunitsasA,m2.RoomsoundabsorptioniscalculatedfromthedecayrateusingEq1.Therequirementsofthisstandardhavebeenchosensotheuncertaintyassociatedwiththemeasurementofroomsoundabsorptionwillbeacceptablysmallsolongasthelogarithmoftheabsorptionisbeingusedincalculations.Othertestmethodsshouldspecifyexplicitlythattheymakeuseofthistestmethod.Wheremeasurementrequirementsintheparentstandarddifferfromthosegivenhere,therequirementsintheparentstandardshallbesatisfied.Thistestmethodshallnotbeusedwhenroomsoundabsorptionordecayrateistobeuseddirectlytosatisfysomecriterion,forexampleinaroomthatmustnotbeoverlyreverberantsospeechwillbeintelligible.Note18212;Theuncertaintyoftheroomsoundabsorptionobtainedwillusuallybetoohighandadditionalmeasurementsarenecessary.Anycompanionstandardmayspecifytheuseoftheproceduresinthismethodfordeterminingwhetherthedecayratesinaroomareslowenoughtosatisfytherequirementsofthecompanionstandard.Themeasureddecayratesshallstillbeusedonlytocalculatethelogarithmoftheroomabsorption.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofsounddecayrateinroomsandthecalculationofthesoundabsorptionoftheroomanditscontents.Thesoundabsorptionsocalculatedmaybeusedincalculationsinsoundinsulationtestmethods.1.2Themethodshallbeusedonlyinconjunctionwithothertestmethodswherethelogarithmofthesoundabsorptionisusedinformulas.Itisnotsufficientlypreciseforuseinsituationswhereroomsoundabsorptionistobeusedwithouttakinglogarithms.1.3Forlaboratorymeasurementsofthesoundabsorptionofmaterialsandobjects,TestMethodC423shouldbeused.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
